On Thursday, August 7th from 6 to 9pm, the Brooks will throw a party for (what would have been) Warhol’s 80th birthday.
At Spotlight Warhol, there will be a full cash bar with Birthday Bash martinis and complimentary Warhol birthday cake. The Prints of Andy Warhol will be on view, and guided tours of the exhibition will be offered at 6 and 6:30pm.
The event will also feature live music by Hi Electric.
Most recently seen at the Memphis Pops Fest at the Hi-Tone on Friday, Hi Electric is a five-piece pop/indie band, based here in Memphis. The band was formed by Neil Bartlett, who was discovered by Steve Selvidge (Amy LaVere/Antenna Shoes/Big Ass Truck). Hi Electric also features Alan Yee on bass; Kevin Cubbins (The Lights/The 1-4-5’s) on guitar; Dave Shouse (The Grifters/Blood Thirsty Lovers/The New Mary Jane) keyboards; and Robert Barnett (Mouse Rocket/Rob Jungklas/Big Ass Truck) on drums.
Listen to Hi Electric’s music here.
Spotlight Warhol tickets are free for members, $7 for non-members, and can be purchased online or at the door.
See you there!
